About the firm

Built to take the cases other firms walk away from.

Allied Heir is a privately-funded estate-resolution firm based in Chicago. We work the multi-heir, tax-delinquent, and missing-heir cases that conventional probate workflows are not built to absorb.

Our story

Allied Heir was founded by senior real estate operators with more than thirty years of combined experience in title work, acquisitions, and estate resolution. The pattern that brought the firm into being was simple and recurring: properties stuck in fractional ownership, heirs unreachable through standard notice, tax sale calendars closing in — and the firms equipped to solve the problem either weren't structured to take the risk, or weren't willing to do the work.

We organized differently. Rather than running on contingency, Allied Heir is privately capitalized — a balance sheet behind every case, not a wager on the next recovery. That structure lets us pay delinquent taxes on day three, clear senior liens before the calendar pressure kicks in, and decline cases that don't pencil without leaving a family worse off for the attempt.

Chicago anchors the firm because the work does. Cook County alone moves thousands of tax-delinquent parcels through scavenger sale every cycle, many with multi-generation heir structures and title chains that haven't been touched in decades. The same patterns repeat in counties across the country — and Allied Heir works nationally — but the practice that makes the rest of the firm possible was built here.

We are not a law firm. We are a small, senior team of operators who coordinate licensed counsel, licensed investigators, and the capital and patience required to take an estate from stuck to closed.

02Our standards

The seven things we do that the rest of the field does not.

  1. 01

    Capital, not contingency.

Every recoverable cost — taxes, liens, legal work, research — is funded from our balance sheet. We are not pressured to take cases we cannot close.

  2. 02

    No outreach without case context.

Heirs hear from us only after their standing is documented. First contact is a written letter with the full case file — never a cold call, never social media.

  3. 03

Every fee, every expense, in writing.

Compensation, costs, and the recovery split are documented and signed before any work begins. There are no surprise charges at distribution.

  4. 04

    Your client relationship stays yours.

Heirs identified through a referring professional are returned to that professional for downstream legal work. We do not solicit your clients, ever.

  5. 05

We say no when the math doesn't work.

If a case will not generate a meaningful recovery — for the heirs or for the firm — we decline it and explain why. No engagement is opened to keep the lights on.

  6. 06

Heir data is held to the case, not the firm.

Personal information is collected only as the recovery requires, retained only as long as records require, and never sold, shared, or marketed against.

  7. 07

Legal questions go to licensed counsel.

Allied Heir is not a law firm. Legal opinions are delivered by partner counsel admitted in the relevant jurisdiction, and our work product reflects that boundary.
