Who we help

Heirs. Attorneys. Counties.

Three audiences, one practice. Choose the role that describes you — the answers below are written for that audience and that audience only.

For heirs

A short list of honest answers, in plain language.

If your situation isn't covered below, send the property address and the decedent's name through our case form and we will reply in writing.

  • I just learned about an inheritance — or might be one. Where do I start?

Send us the property address and the decedent's name through the case form. We'll review confidentially and tell you within a week whether there is a recoverable position. If we don't have a case, you'll know — and there is no fee.

  • How much does this cost me?

Nothing up front. Allied Heir is privately funded; we cover taxes, liens, legal work, and recovery costs from our balance sheet. Our compensation comes out of the recovery itself, on a percentage agreed in writing before any work begins. If we don't recover, you don't owe.

  • What if other heirs disagree?

Disagreement is the norm in multi-heir cases — that is part of why other firms walk away from them. Counsel handles disputes within the engagement framework, and we don't proceed with a sale until interests are reconciled in writing or by court order.

  • What if I'm not sure I'm actually an heir?

That is our job to determine. We rebuild the family tree from public records and vital statistics before contacting anyone. By the time you hear from us, your standing is documented.

  • Why isn't the estate's attorney handling this?

Sometimes there isn't one. Sometimes the property sits outside the formal probate scope. Sometimes the case is too small or too complex for an existing engagement to absorb. We work alongside estate counsel where one exists; we coordinate the legal work where one doesn't.

  • What about my privacy?

Intake is confidential. We do not sell, share, or publicize information about a case. Outreach to other heirs is documented and conducted through written, attorney-coordinated channels — never social media, never neighbors.

  • What if the property is already at tax sale?

Move quickly and tell us the sale date. Pre-auction recovery is a core competency — we have closed cases days from the sale calendar. The earlier you reach out, the more options remain.

Confidential intake. We review every case in private and only proceed with cases we can actually move.
